Here are some quick facts about floorball WFC!
- The floorball WC is played every two years. Even years are men and odd years are women.
- All countries except the host country need to qualify.
- The qualification is held in several places on earth, some in Europe. America and Oceania.
- There are a total of 16 places for the WC and these 16 places are divided into 4 groups of 4 teams. Group A and B consist of the top 8 highest ranked teams while Group C and Group D are the teams ranked 9-16. The first and second in Group C and D meet the third and fourth from Groups A and B in playoff matches.
- After the group stage, there are play offs and placement matches.
- The first WFC was played in 1996 in Sweden and Sweden won 5-0 against Finland.
How can you follow the WFC?
The best way to follow the floorball WC is of course on site in Malmö Arena or Baltiska Hallen. But if you don't have the opportunity to do that, SVT broadcasts all of Sweden's matches. You can read more about it here.
